The 1972 Equal Rights Amendment Can No Longer Be Ratified

As the Congressional Research Service has concluded, the 1972 ERA formally died when its ratification deadline passed on June 30, 1982. Additionally, Congress has no role in determining when a proposed amendment has been ratified, and the states cannot ratify an amendment after its deadline has passed, writes Thomas Jipping in his new report.

We Can Protect Life While Respecting the 2nd Amendment

Heritage's Amy Swearer testified in El Paso, Texas, before the Texas House Select Committee on Mass Violence Prevention and Community Safety. "We are on the same team. We might forget that at times, but we are on the same team. Children of the same God ... whose hearts break in the same way when we see the types of violence and devastation that are wrought on cities like El Paso," said Swearer.

Iran Must Be Held Accountable For 'Careless Act of Violence

“We are deeply saddened by the loss of 176 lives aboard Ukraine International Airlines Flight 752. Such loss of life is horrendous – at any time, in any situation – and we are thinking of and praying for those grieving at this time," said Heritage's James Carafano. “The Iranian regime must be held to account for this careless act of violence, carried out in the midst of an assault on Iraq’s sovereign territory and the U.S. forces positioned there.
