The World’s Leading Think Tank for Policy Impact
Recognizing the dangers posed by an increasingly powerful and aggressive China, The Heritage Foundation has spearheaded efforts to organize international efforts to manage those risks.
As part of that effort, Heritage has been a major proponent of the Quadrilateral Security Dialogue (also known as the Quad), a strategic partnership initially formed in the late 2000s between the United States, India, Japan, and Australia to promote common strategic objectives and policy goals.
Heritage Foundation legal fellows Zack Smith and Amy Swearer recently testified before Congress on the issues of District of Columbia statehood and gun rights.
In his testimony to the U.S. House Committee on Oversight and Reform on March 22, Smith argued that HR 51, also known as the "Washington, D.C. Admission Act" would be unconstitutional and that any attempt to make D.C. a state short of a constitutional amendment would be legally problematic.
Arizona recently enacted an election security bill containing numerous Heritage Foundation policy recommendations.
The bill, signed March 18 by Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey, requires the Arizona Department of Health Services to send the secretary of state a monthly report listing every state resident who died within the preceding month.
