Coronavirus (COVID-19): Public Policy Solutions

Now is a time for national unity, not playing politics with public health. Unfortunately, far too many in the U.S. are using this as an opportunity for partisanship rather than problem-solving.  Congress should prioritize the administration’s request for additional funding to handle the crisis. It should not use the crisis to add spending on issues not germane to the public health situation. The Trump administration has taken some decisive and helpful steps, such as restricting certain international travel, but more may need to be done to contain the epidemic.
