September 11: Never Forget

Twenty-five years ago, Americans witnessed one of the darkest days in our nation's history. Nearly 3,000 innocent lives were taken in coordinated terrorist attacks on New York, Washington, and Pennsylvania.

Yet amid tragedy, America also witnessed extraordinary courage. First responders rushed into danger. Service members answered the call to defend the nation. Ordinary citizens demonstrated remarkable strength, compassion, and resolve.

On the 25th anniversary of September 11, we remember those who were lost, honor those who served, and reflect on the lessons that continue to shape our nation. This collection brings together Heritage's reporting, analysis, interviews, and commentary from the past quarter century.
