Romina Boccia [Ro-Meena Bot-Cha] was a leading fiscal and economic expert at the Heritage Foundation. Her research is focused on securing economic freedom, controlling the size and scope of government, expanding opportunity and flexibility for workers, reforming Social Security, and simplifying retirement savings.

Often introduced as "an economist who speaks English," for making complex topics easily understood, Boccia is a sought-after speaker and panel moderator who frequently travels the United States to speak at conferences and on college campuses. She has appeared before live audiences across the globe from Stockholm, Sweden to Tokyo, Japan.

Boccia directed the Grover M. Hermann Center for the Federal Budget at the Heritage Foundation, whose budget analysts and economists cover taxes, labor policy, pensions, appropriations, infrastructure, and transportation. The Center leads the production of Heritage’s Blueprint for Balance, an annual federal budget plan that was the foundation of President Trump's budget proposals to Congress, and which has had a profound influence on congressional budget resolutions.

Boccia regularly advises members of Congress and has testified before House and Senate congressional committees, as well as before state legislatures. She is widely published and often appears as a guest expert on national television and talk radio.

Boccia received her bachelor's and master's degrees in Economics from George Mason University. She serves on the Foundation for Economic Education Alumni Board and is a founding member and former president of Liberty Toastmasters.

Originally from Augsburg, she is a native German speaker who enjoys climbing and skiing mountains.
