WASHINGTON—Alden Abbott was appointed Acting General Counsel at the Federal Trade Commission following his service as Deputy Director of Edwin Meese III Center for Legal and Judicial Studies at The Heritage Foundation. Heritage Vice President of the Institute for Constitutional Government and Director of the Meese Center John Malcolm praised Abbott’s appointment:

“Alden Abbott is an outstanding choice to be General Counsel at the Federal Trade Commission. He has excellent judgment, sound analytical skills, and a near-encyclopedic knowledge of antitrust and privacy law. Although we will miss him in the Meese Center, where he ably served as my Deputy Director for four years, the country will benefit greatly from his return to public service.”
