This series is designed to offer public policy readers a summary of the manifold problems posed by the most serious illicit drugs that America faces today and to offer various responses to reduce the horrific effect that those drugs have wreaked on Americans and will continue to do so unless we change our response. Among those drugs are the synthetic opioids fentanyl and nitazene, the synthetic stimulant methamphetamine, natural or synthetic psychedelics, and novel psychoactive substances. The series also discusses cannabis.
