Richard M. Reinsch II, a leading conservative scholar on American constitutionalism and free markets, was Director of the B. Kenneth Simon Center for American Studies and AWC Family Foundation Fellow at The Heritage Foundation.

Reinsch is the founding editor of Liberty Fund’s online journal Law & Liberty and hosts the podcast Liberty Law Talk. He is coauthor with Peter Augustine Lawler of A Constitution in Full: Recovering the Unwritten Foundation of American Liberty (Kansas Press, May 2019).

In his role at Heritage, Reinsch convened podcast conversations, debates, and conferences with key thinkers and influencers. He authored a regular column at The Daily Signal, Heritage’s multimedia news outlet. Reinsch also hosted a podcast with high-profile guests to deepen the understanding of our core principles and develop positions for a morally serious conservatism that advocates constitutional and economic liberty.

Reinsch is the author of Whittaker Chambers: The Spirit of a Counterrevolutionary (ISI Books, 2010), and is the editor of Seeking the Truth: An Orestes Brownson Anthology (Catholic University of America Press, 2016). His work has appeared in Perspectives on Political Science, Commentary, National Affairs, American Affairs, The American Conservative, Modern Age, National Review, Washington Examiner, and Religion and Liberty.

He received his law degree in 2004 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He practiced law in securities and mergers and acquisitions before arriving at Liberty Fund.
