Matthew D. Dickerson was Director of the Grover M. Hermann Center for the Federal Budget at The Heritage Foundation, where he advised a team of budget analysts and economists researching spending, entitlements, budget process, tax, labor, pensions, and infrastructure issues.

With more than a decade of experience as a Congressional staffer, Matthew Dickerson is recognized as an expert in an array of policy issues, including the budget, appropriations, entitlement reform, and tax policy. 

Prior to joining Heritage, Dickerson was a Policy Manager at Americans for Prosperity, where he supervised a team of fellows and analysts covering a variety of federal and state policy issues.  

Dickerson was previously a staffer for the Republican Study Committee, the caucus of conservatives in the House of Representatives, where he served under four chairmen in senior roles, including as Policy Director and Senior Policy Staff. He also served as Legislative Director for the late Congressman C.W. Bill Young (R-FL), a former Chairman of the powerful House Appropriations Committee. 

Dickerson is a graduate of the College of William and Mary in Virginia and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Government and History.
