John Schoof was a research associate and project coordinator in the Center for Education Policy at The Heritage Foundation, where he focused on policy analysis and research related to K-12 education freedom, federal education policy, and innovation in K-12 education.

Prior to joining The Heritage Foundation, John worked on the COVID-19 School Response Dashboard and the COVID-19 School Data Hub, the central databases for educators, researchers, and policymakers to understand how the COVID-19 pandemic shaped students’ access to learning. 

John co-authored academic studies that were published in Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report and Preventive Medicine Reports.  He also has been quoted in The Blade, Wisconsin Public Radio, and WITF local radio in Harrisburg, PA.

He received a master’s degree in public health and epidemiology from the University of Washington and a bachelor’s degree in business administration and finance at American University.
