National Football League (NFL) players are making headlines by kneeling during the national anthem. Arthur Milikh, Associate Director of The Heritage Foundation’s B. Kenneth Simon Center for Principles and Politics, says the viewership of NFL fans might ultimately determine the outcome:

“Progressives have to a great degree taken over much of America’s corporate sector, which they use to muscle public opinion. From this perch, they often seek to control public opinion without actually persuading it. Conservatives have been very slow to respond. The situation with the NFL is a test case: if NFL fans sink ratings, this will be one of the first times that conservatives have organized nationally to boycott the left.”

Milikh adds, “Many Americans see these kinds of protests as expressions of ingratitude toward this country by elites, who want the glory of righteousness with little sacrifice or consequence.”
