In fact, the U.S. Supreme Court has granted certiorari and received merits briefing in two of the State’s cases in the last two years alone. The OSG also files amicus briefs in appellate courts around the country in cases that implicate Idaho’s interests, and takes an active role in developing arguments at the district court level in key cases.
  • The Deputy Solicitor General reports directly to the Solicitor General and helps manage the other members of the OSG team. The Deputy Solicitor General can expect to draft appellate briefs, dispositive motions, and Attorney General Opinions; coordinate with other Attorney General offices on multistate efforts; manage day-to-day litigation matters; and research, analyze, and consult on other issues of importance to the Attorney General and other constitutional officers.
