Description
The Heritage Foundation is honored to host Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau for our signature lecture on U.S. policy in the Indo-Pacific. This year’s B.C. Lee Lecture will focus on the Trump administration’s approach to the Pacific Islands, their importance to U.S. national interests, and opportunities to deepen America’s economic and security partnerships with the region.
Spread across millions of square miles of the Pacific Ocean, the Pacific Islands occupy strategically important geography and form a critical part of America’s broader defense architecture in the Indo-Pacific. Strong partnerships with Pacific Island countries are essential to preserving a free and open Indo-Pacific and advancing American security and prosperity in an increasingly contested region.
Heritage’s annual B.C. Lee Lecture on international affairs was endowed by the Samsung Group in honor of its founder, the late B.C. Lee, to focus on the U.S. relationship with the Indo-Pacific.
