Description

Little Pink House has been praised by the Boston Globe, Hollywood Reporter, New York Observer, among others. With an all-star cast, including two-time Academy Award nominee Catherine Keener and Emmy nominee Jeanne Tripplehorn, the movie tells the remarkable true story of Susette Kelo. A small-town nurse, Susette emerges as the reluctant leader of her working-class neighbors in their struggle to save their homes from political and corporate interests bent on seizing the land and handing it over to Pfizer Corporation. Susette's battle goes all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court, ending with the controversial 5-4 decision in Kelo vs. City of New London. Though she lost in court, the decision outraged Americans across the political spectrum and that passion fueled reforms that helped curb eminent domain abuse.

Join us for a special private screening of the motion picture Little Pink House, including a discussion with Susette Kelo, the real-life plaintiff in the infamous U.S. Supreme Court case, along with the film’s director and writer, Courtney Moorehead Balaker, and producer, Ted Balaker, and Institute for Justice President Scott Bullock, who argued the Kelo case before the U.S. Supreme Court.
