WASHINGTON, October 10, 2017—New York businessman Harold Siegel will be honored next week in Washington, D.C., by The Heritage Foundation.

Siegel, the president and founder of Excelsior Graphics, Inc., will receive the think tank’s “Coors, Noble, Scaife Founders Award” on October 17 at Heritage’s annual President’s Club meeting.

The award is named for Joseph Coors, Ed Noble, and Richard Scaife, three businessmen whose commitment to preserving and promoting the principles embraced by America’s Founding Fathers led them to underwrite the launch of The Heritage Foundation in 1973.

The Founders Award honors individuals who have demonstrated for more than 15 years an unwavering support and belief in Heritage’s mission: “to build an America where freedom, opportunity, prosperity, and civil society flourish.”

Siegel first joined The Heritage Foundation in 1989, 12 years after founding Excelsior Graphics, Inc., a commercial printing firm in Manhattan. He is also a founding board member and treasurer of the Printing Broker/Buyers Association, a major industry trade group.

Over the years, he has been involved in many philanthropic causes and cultural pursuits. He is also politically active, being an avid member of the Metropolitan Republican Club as well as the Republican Jewish Coalition. For 49 years, he has belonged to the Friars Club, a group of entertainment professionals known for its celebrity roasts, honorary dinners, and iconic award shows. Siegel served as a member of its Board of Governors on three different occasions.

Siegel served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1951-1953. He and his wife, Marilyn, were married in 1954. They have two daughters and four grandchildren.

With more than a half-million members, The Heritage Foundation is the nation’s most widely supported think tank.
