Associate Director, 2025 Presidential Transition Project

Spencer is Associate Director of the 2025 Presidential Transition Project at The Heritage Foundation.

Spencer Chretien serves as Associate Director of Heritage’s 2025 Presidential Transition Project, supporting each pillar of the project’s work.

From 2020-2021, Chretien was a Special Assistant to President Donald J. Trump and Associate Director of Presidential Personnel, helping to identify, recruit, and place hundreds of political appointees at all levels of government. Before his role at the White House, Chretien served as a political appointee at the Department of Housing and Urban Development.

In addition to his service in government, Chretien has held numerous positions at conservative organizations in the Washington, D.C. area—including the American Legislative Exchange Council, Citizens Against Government Waste, and FreedomWorks—and is a 2022 graduate of Hillsdale College’s James Madison Fellowship Program. 

A graduate of The College of William and Mary, Chretien is originally from Northern Virginia, where he still resides.
