The Heritage Foundation Welcomes Back Nina Owcharenko Schaefer as Senior Research Fellow

WASHINGTON, Jan. 4, 2018—The Heritage Foundation welcomed back former administration official Nina Owcharenko Schaefer as Senior Research Fellow in health policy in the organization's Institute for Family, Community, and Opportunity.

 

Previously, Schaefer served in the Trump Administration as Senior Counselor to the Secretary at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.In that high-level capacity, Schaefer advanced Presidential and Secretary policy priorities at the agency, including managing the development of the HHS response to the opioid abuse crisis.

She previously served at Heritage from 2001 to 2017.

"Nina is a critical addition to our team at this important moment in our country’s debate over the future of health care," said Marie Fishpaw, Heritage's Director of Domestic Policy Studies.
