Statement by Heritage Foundation President Kay Coles James on the Death of Rev. Billy Graham

Feb 21, 2018

Heritage Foundation President Kay Coles James issued the following statement on the death of Billy Graham:

We mourn the passing of a true friend and leader, Rev. Billy Graham. But we also rejoice that the same Gospel he preached to millions over his lifetime is now the song he will sing and the life he will live for the rest of eternity. God used Billy to reach so many, including me when I was a high school student. He nurtured faith, hope and love across the globe for generations and proclaimed the Good News to everyone from farmers to kings. As he takes residence in Heaven, I recall some of his most famous words: “Someday you will read or hear that I am dead. Don’t you believe a word of it. I shall be more alive than I am now. I will just have changed my address. I will have gone into the presence of God.” May his family be comforted in the sure knowledge that Rev. Graham’s “new address” is truly home.
