Heritage Foundation President Kay Coles James issued the following statement on the confirmations of Russell Vought and John Mitnick:

“It's said that 'personnel is policy,' so The Heritage Foundation is thrilled, if not surprised, to have two more Heritage alumni join an administration that has advanced 64% of the policy recommendations outlined in our Mandate for Leadership. Russell Vought was confirmed yesterday as deputy director of the Office of Management and Budget, following John Mitnick, who assumed duties last week as General Counsel at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. They join dozens of former Heritage staff who are also now a part of the administration. Both John and Russ are intellectual heavyweights and tireless advocates of our great American experiment in liberty. I extend my heartiest congratulations to these two men who are certain worthy and more than ready to serve the American people with excellence.”
