Heritage President Kay Coles James Honored by Virginia Library’s Women in History Program

RICHMOND, Va. – The Heritage Foundation’s president, Kay Coles James, was selected among eight finalists to be honored by The Library of Virginia’s Women in History Program. The award is presented to key figures in the Commonwealth who have meaningfully contributed to their communities over the years in a wide range of advocacy to include civil rights, education and public service.

 

This year’s list of honorees will be featured in a traveling exhibit, which will make its way to schools, libraries and cultural institutions across the state. As a longtime advocate for families, faith, and communities while serving in numerous positions within local, state, and federal government, Mrs. James was excited to hear the news.

 

“I am truly honored to be recognized along with these extraordinary women, who have all sought to make Virginia a better place for future generations,” remarked Mrs. James.
