“His success in business was matched only by his immense generosity to his local community in Georgia. Founded in 1989, The Marcus Foundation has given more than $2.7 billion through 3,500 grants to charity organizations. His support for veterans and work to strengthen ties between Christians and Jews is inspiring. Heritage was honored to bestow the Great American Award to Bernie in 2023.”
