WASHINGTON—Today, The Heritage Foundation announced the establishment of a Defense Advisory Panel (DAP) of thirteen retired General and Flag Officers to counsel the Allison Center for National Security.
The DAP’s members represent more than 440 years of uniformed military service, with representatives from five of the six branches of the U.S. Armed Forces— the Navy, Army, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard. Furthermore, its members have extensive experience in air defense artillery, armor, aviation, cavalry, infantry, intelligence, mobility, ordnance, special operations, and surface warfare communities.
Victoria Coates, vice president of the Kathryn and Shelby Cullom Davis Institute for National Security and Foreign Policy at Heritage, added:
“We are honored to have this impressive group of national security leaders join The Heritage Foundation as we seek to rebuild our military, build credible deterrence, and improve the lethality of our armed forces.”
Panel members will serve as authoritative advisors to the Allison Center as it publishes the eleventh edition of the Index of U.S. Military Strength. This flagship publication assesses the military’s ability to protect the homeland, defend U.S. interests, and deter and defeat its adversaries.
Heritage Director of the Allison Center for National Security Robert Greenway stated:
“The strength of the U.S. military will be immeasurably enhanced through the advice, insights, and subject-matter expertise of this incredibly accomplished group. The Allison Center will greatly benefit from their robust knowledge and wisdom, and we look forward to actively working with these incredible patriots.”
