Having served in government for over three decades, Shedd brings a wealth of experience from the intelligence community, at one point leading the Defense Intelligence Agency's over 16,000 worldwide employees. Shedd also served in multiple senior positions including Senior Director for Intelligence in the George W. Bush White House, Director of National Intelligence (DNI), roles with the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), and in several embassy postings abroad in Latin America. 

In The Great Heist, Shedd delivers a masterclass in exposing how the Chinese Communist Party has been engaged in the largest-scale theft of intellectual property, technology, and data in history. The book methodically details China's unprecedented effort to strip the U.S. and its allies of their economic, technological, and military edge, and, in the process, fundamentally harm the security and prosperity of the American people.
