WASHINGTON—Yesterday, The Heritage Foundation announced a second round of 2025 Innovation Prizes, awarding $250,000 to five projects joining Heritage in celebrating America’s 250th Anniversary next year. The winners have developed projects that celebrate America’s founding principles by fostering a deeper understanding of our constitutional liberties, inspiring civic discourse, building patriotism, and nurturing a deep love of country through storytelling.
Winners of the second round of Innovation Prizes include Constituting America, The Harlan Institute, Mountain States Policy Center, The Moving Picture Institute, and Wedgwood Circle.
Cathy Gillespie, CEO of Constituting America, commented on receiving a prize:
“At Constituting America, we believe the best way to celebrate America’s 250th is by confronting civic apathy with constitutional education and renewing our nation’s commitment to its founding principles. Our work is about reminding Americans why our country is exceptional, why the Declaration of Independence and Constitution matter, and why these truths must be preserved for generations to come.”
The Innovation Prize winners will each receive a $50,000 grant. The awards will empower these organizations to educate Americans about history and government, developing a deep patriotism for their country.
Josh Blackman, president and co-founder of The Harlan Institute, added:
“The Harlan Institute is dedicated to teaching America's next generation about our foundational documents. Thanks to The Heritage Foundation's America’s 250th grant, our students will present arguments about the Declaration of Independence at the National Archives in the presence of the Declaration of Independence. This will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience for our students.”
The Innovation Prizes are intended to spark creative disruption within the conservative movement. Through visual artistry, educational opportunities, and regional leadership challenges, these prize winners have accomplished that goal.
Craig Detweiler, president and CEO of Wedgwood Circle, stated:
“Wedgwood and its partner MORE Productions are thrilled to have received the Innovation Prize to bring the powerful story of the Marbleheaders to life in 2026, coinciding with the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. The Marbleheaders were exemplary for their military service, but even more so for their unity in diversity. Despite all their differences, the men were able to transcend their divisions to accomplish great feats on behalf of the American Revolution. We hope the Marbleheaders' story inspires Americans to emulate their example. E Pluribus Unum.”
The award winners’ projects include a graphic novel, civic education, and competitions that strengthen the understanding of our Constitution and fundamental laws, and film projects that promote patriotism and celebrate American history through storytelling.
