Delano Squires Joins Heritage as Research Fellow for Life, Marriage, and Family

WASHINGTON—The Heritage Foundation announced Wednesday that Delano Squires has joined the organization as a research fellow with Heritage’s DeVos Center for Life, Religion and Family. In this new position, Squires will focus on policies that support life, marriage, the family, and religious liberty. He will also conduct research with a particular emphasis on the importance of fatherhood.

Squires has been a consistent voice on marriage and family issues for many years. He has worked as a contributor to BlazeTV’s “Fearless with Jason Whitlock,” and has written extensively about race, religion, the family, and culture for The Federalist, Black and Married with Kids, and The Root.

Squires recently joined Heritage Foundation President Kevin Roberts’ podcast, “The Kevin Roberts Show,” to talk about the crisis of fatherhood and why government cannot replace fathers. Listen to that episode here.

“I'm excited to join The Heritage Foundation because it is leading the fight to influence our culture and shape public policy at a time when the consequences of inaction are not simply higher taxes and limited growth, but complete collapse of our most basic institutions,” Squires said. “Like most Americans, I want my children to live in a decent society that values life, family, and liberty, but that won't be possible if our leaders continue to dismiss the dignity of human life, families are collapsing, and policy is detached from morality. I’m excited to get to work along with my new colleagues at Heritage in defense of the God-given institutions of life, marriage, and family.”

“I’m delighted that Delano has joined our Heritage team,” said Jay Richards, director of Heritage’s DeVos Center for Life, Religion, and Family. “The family is under assault like never before, and we need bold defenders of the family like Delano who aren’t afraid to fight back.”

“Cancel culture crumbles in the face of bravery, which is why we are thrilled to have indomitable voices like Delano Squires join our ranks,” added Roger Severino, Heritage vice president for domestic policy.
