The Daily Signal Ends 2021 With Biggest Year-Over-Year Increase Among Conservative News Websites

Feb 4, 2022

The Daily Signal, Heritage’s news and commentary website, ended 2021 with large audience gains, registering a year-over-year increase of 66%, according to Comscore data released by TheRighting, a media tracking company.

Among the top 20 conservative websites tracked by TheRighting, The Daily Signal had the largest year-over-year increase. The Daily Signal was one of only four conservative websites that grew its audience in December 2021 compared to December 2020.

“The Daily Signal team has worked around the clock to bring our readers the most important underreported news,” said Katrina Trinko, editor-in-chief of The Daily Signal. “We are excited about our growth and can’t wait to see what we can do in 2022.”

Under Trinko’s leadership, The Daily Signal expanded its focus on investigative reporting in 2021. The Daily Signal’s team of reporters will build out this capability in 2022, working in conjunction with Heritage’s newly announced Conservative Oversight Project

The Daily Signal’s work has been cited across other major media platforms, including Fox News, New York Times, Washington Examiner, and the Daily Wire.

“One reason The Daily Signal gained more audience than any other conservative website in December was due to the Dec. 13 publication of the commentary ‘What I’ve Learned Rescuing My Daughter From Her Transgender Fantasy.’ It was among The Daily Signal’s most popular stories of the year,” reports TheRighting.

That commentary, written under the pen name Charlie Jacobs, received over half a million views.  Other articles that performed well for The Daily Signal in 2021 included, “My Woke Employees Tried to Cancel Me. Here’s How I Fought Back”, and “11 Takeaways From Fauci’s Emails About COVID-19.”
