With state lockdowns moving schools to online learning, many students are now falling behind in these virtual settings. Those most affected are younger students who are at the most crucial time in their educational lives. School closures are not the answer to solving the spread of the virus. It’s time to fight for our students and it’s time to Fight for America!

Your Steps to Make a Difference:

LEARN: Read The Daily Signal article, Online Learning Tanked Grades, Learning in Virginia’s Largest School System, and post on it one or more of your social media accounts using the hashtags #COVIDAndTheClassroom and #FightForAmerica. If you do not use social media, email the article to 5 of your friends.

SHARE: Listen to the latest episode of the Heritage podcast “COVID and the Classroom,” Return of the Lockdowns with Inez Stepman. After listening, share with a friend who enjoys podcasts.

ACT: With many young students currently struggling in virtual learning environments, consider volunteering on UpChieve or Learn To Be to become an online tutor. You can also call your local school and ask if they have any virtual tutoring opportunities. Even sharing 30 minutes a week can make a difference in a student’s confidence and academic success.
