August is National Attend Your Local Government Meeting Month

“What we need is not more federal government, but better local government.”

The words of President Calvin Coolidge ring true today. This summer, patriotic Americans across our country are taking part in their local government meetings and making their voices heard on issues like COVID-19 lockdowns, vaccine passports, and mask mandates.

Local government is one of the most important institutions we interact with as it can have the most direct impact on our daily lives. Meetings like city council, county commission, and other local government meetings provide you with an opportunity to help affect the kind of policies your individual community needs.

We must protect our local governments from those with tyrannical tendencies that threaten our freedom. Your voice and values can make the difference!

Your Steps to Make a Difference:

LEARN: Read The Daily Signal article, Why States Should Tune Out Washington’s COVID-19 Noise and post it on one or more of your social media accounts using the hashtag #COVIDLockdowns and #Federalism. If you do not use social media, email the video or article to 5 of your friends.

SHARE: Watch The Daily Signal interview, Vaccine Mandates Are ‘What a Tyranny Would Do,’ Arizona Lawmaker Says. After watching, share with a like-minded friend and encourage them to attend their local government meeting.

ACT: With family or friends, attend your community’s local government meeting and share your point of view on COVID-19 lockdowns, vaccine passports, or another subject facing your community. Before attending, research the meeting to learn where and when it is, scheduled topics, and how to sign up to speak. Visit the Citizen Engagement Series page for more tips.
