The $1.8 trillion proposal promises universal “free” preschool, government-subsidized child care, and extended government-paid family leave. In practice, the proposal offers more socialism and would radically undermine American families by driving up child care costs, discouraging marriage, and rewarding families that don’t work with cash payments.
