Description

The Chinese Communist Party intentionally conceals information and deceives the outside world. For the United States to diminish the threat from the CCP and win the New Cold War, America needs access to accurate and transparent data about China. In 2020, The Heritage Foundation launched a new initiative to examine the state of transparency regarding both official data emerging from China and private-sector efforts to plug gaps in our understanding of China.

As part of that initiative, The Heritage Foundation is excited to announce the release of the 2024 China Transparency Report. This report is the second edition of Heritage’s analysis on the current state of transparency vis-à-vis China across eight categories. The report also includes six topical essays, ranging from in-depth analysis on human rights and Chinese politics to Wall Street financing and COVID-19 coverups.

Join Heritage President Kevin Roberts and Asian Studies Director Jeff M. Smith, along with essay authors Dr. George Calhoun, Dr. Willy Wo-Lap Lam, and Dr. Nadia Schadlow, for the launch of the 2024 China Transparency Report.
