President’s Office
An internship in the President’s Office is unlike any in the building, as the intern works directly with the President and sees the operations of Heritage from the top level. It is a generalist position as the President’s office does not specialize in any one specific policy area. The President’s Office intern provides direct operational and administrative support to the President and his executive staff. Key responsibilities include: drafting and editing correspondence, providing budget support, crafting comprehensive travel and scheduling documents, and compiling background and biography information for the President’s meetings.
Office of the Founder
The Founder’s Office intern provides direct operational and administrative support to the Founder and his personal staff for the purpose of increasing the effectiveness of the Foundation. This internship is unlike other in the building as the intern works directly with the Founder and sees the operations of Heritage from a unique level. It is a generalist position as our office does not specialize in any one specific policy area. This job is perfect for someone who wants to get a broad understanding of the political climate in Washington by learning about many different issues directly from a man who has spent over 40 years affecting politics in Washington. The work load fluctuates depending on the Founder’s schedule and needs.

Events
The Heritage Foundation’s Events Team includes the Special Events and Conference Services departments. The Special Events side handles all external events throughout the country to include our annual productions, like the Annual Leadership Conference, Resource Bank Meeting, and President’s Club Meeting; as well as regional donor breakfasts, luncheons, and receptions. The Events intern provides administrative and operational support to the Special Events department. Conference Services is responsible for over 100 weekly meetings and events that take place within the Heritage buildings. The Events intern will assist Conference Services regularly coordinating catering orders, room reservations, and handling other administrative tasks. Previous event experience is preferred, but not necessary. The ideal Events intern will have the ability to make decisive decisions, prioritize responsibilities, and take initiative with assigned projects.
