The Davis Institute for National Security and Foreign Policy at The Heritage Foundation
David Inserra, research associate in The Heritage Foundation’s Allison Center for Foreign and National Security Policy, specializes in homeland security issues, including cyber and immigration policy, and the protection of critical infrastructure.
Inserra authors Heritage Foundation Issue Briefs, Backgrounders and Special Reports, and contributes to Heritage’s news platform, The Daily Signal. He also writes newspaper op-eds and is a frequent guest on radio stations across the country. Inserra participates in public debates and events, as well as in private briefings, to discuss national security issues facing the U.S.
Inserra, who joined Heritage in 2012, grew up in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in government and economics from the College of William & Mary, and is currently pursuing a Masters in Public Policy from George Mason University. He and his wife, Cayla, reside in Arlington, Virginia.
