Nikki Haley Will Fight for the American People at the UN

President-elect Donald Trump on Wednesday announced that he will nominate South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley to be his ambassador to the United Nations.

“Governor Haley is an outstanding choice to represent our nation and defend our values on the world stage,” said former South Carolina senator and Heritage President Jim DeMint. “Nikki has proven time and again that she will fight for the American people and handle the toughest of circumstances with grace and wisdom. She will fight for reform and accountability at the United Nations while advancing American interests. This choice signals President-elect Trump is willing to look past election disagreements and to surround himself with strong, serious leaders who will not be satisfied with the status quo.”

The Heritage Foundation has offered a number of policy suggestions for the Trump administration in the Mandate for Leadership Series.
