Washington, March 28, 2006- Former U.S. Attorney General Edwin Meese III, now the Ronald Reagan Distinguished Fellow in Public Policy at The Heritage Foundation, issued the following statement on the death of former Defense Secretary Caspar Weinberger:

"Cap Weinberger was a great leader of our country and a close personal friend.
