Debt Grew by $300 Billion Since Debt Limit Was Suspended

The Budget Control Act of 2011 increased the debt limit by $2.1 trillion to $16.4 trillion. The President and Congress suspended the debt limit from February 4, 2013, through May 18, 2013, adding $300 billion in debt in less than four months.
