Location: The Heritage Foundation's Lehrman Auditorium

Every four years, the Department of Defense, as required by law, conducts a review of its forces, resources, and programs and presents the findings of their Quadrennial Defense Review (QDR) to the President and the Congress. The QDR is instrumental in shaping budgets, strategy, and force structure. In addition to reviewing primary principles guiding the QDR and examining it from the perspective of each branch of the armed forces, our speakers will discuss the emerging role of space in military operations, the evolving roles of the Departments of Defense and Homeland Security, force sizing for the war on terrorism, and bringing active and reserve components back into balance.
