The Role of State and Local Governments in Protecting Our Homeland

State and local communities are at the very heart of a secure homeland. The new Department of Homeland Security (DHS) will face many challenges as it works with our nation's state and local communities to develop a comprehensive strategy to protect our homeland from the threat of terrorism. Many of these communities have begun to take their own imitative to develop innovative ways of local preparedness. However, many gaps remain and communication among all levels of government is vital. Join us on the morning of January 28th as we discuss homeland security at the state and local level, and hear what direction this issue will take in DHS.
