Progress Of Democracy In Asia

Recorded on April 19, 2004

Location: The Heritage Foundation's Allison Auditorium

2004 is an important milestone for the progress of democracy in Asia. At least eleven Asian countries, with populations totaling two billion citizens - nearly one-third of the world's population - are scheduled to hold elections. From industrialized nations such as South Korea to the transitional democracies such as Indonesia, these elections will have a profound impact upon regional stability, economic liberalization and the global war on terrorism.

Join us for two panel discussions on the current status of democracy in this region, vitally important to American interests.
