Emancipation Revelation Revolution

Recorded on February 28, 2006

Location: The Heritage Foundation's Lehrman Auditorium

What happens to black Americans who choose to leave the liberal plantation on the underground railroad of self-determination and true empowerment? They are no longer being judged by the color of their skin … but the content of their character … and the judgment is harsh.

The new movie - Emancipation, Revelation/Revolution - honored at last October's Liberty Film Festival in Hollywood, California, reviews the contradictions facing black Americans as they seek to deal with the hypocrisy of liberalism when they choose to embrace conservative ideas. Among the featured conservative black leaders are Shelby Steele, Deroy Murdock, Star Parker, Roy Innis, Keith Butler, Gloria Jackson, Mason Weaver, and Dr. Alveda King, niece of Dr. Martin Luther King. Join us to learn about the challenges faced by those who question the liberal mantra and seek to assert the wisdom of conservative principles and ideals in their communities.
