Brown v. Board of Education at 50: The Status of Educational Emancipation in America

Recorded on May 17, 2004

Location: The Heritage Foundation's Lehrman Auditorium

In outlawing racial segregation in public education, many heralded the Supreme Court's Brown v. Board of Education decision as concluding that government cannot withhold the educational and economic opportunities that America has to offer to any of its citizens. On this 50th Anniversary, our distinguished guests will assess our progress toward achieving the individual empowerment and educational emancipation envisioned in 1954.
