A NEW APPROACH TO SAVING ENDANGERED SPECIES

Recorded on February 24, 2004

Location: The Heritage Foundation's Lehrman Auditorium

Thirty years after being signed into law, the federal Endangered Species Act can only be considered a colossal failure. While more than 1,300 species have been added to the protection list, fewer than 30 have been de-listed. That's why Colorado has pursued state- and local-based efforts that utilize innovation and collaboration to recover species. Join us as Governor Owens reviews Colorado's endeavors to assure that "endangered" species are on a road to recovery and renewal.
