Amnesty is Cheap for Illegal Immigrants, Expensive for Taxpayers

For someone here illegally, it's cheap: $465 gets them into President Obama's plan to let illegal aliens stay in the US, get a work permit and very possibly get food stamps, housing, medical care, education, and more.

For them it's a bargain: $85 to apply to stay for two years; another $380 to apply for permission to work. Well over a million people are involved--people who were facing deportation.

The million extra job applicants are bad news for the multitude of Americans already out of work.

Plus it will cost taxpayers hundreds of millions of dollars just to process the paperwork, and who knows how many billions to provide generous public benefits.

The Obama Administration persuaded the Supreme Court to let it stop state and local governments from enforcing immigration laws. Now only the feds can enforce those laws--and they're simply refusing to do it.
