Suddenly, Corruption Is on Our Minds

Recorded on July 31, 2012

The latest Gallup poll will surprise some people.

Yes, we worry about the economy, millions of Americans out of work, and the huge debts being run up by a government gone wild.

But the number two issue is corruption—corruption in our federal government.

The evidence is in plain sight:

--Billions of dollars wasted on phony promises of green jobs

--Public officials who don't enforce our laws, such as those about illegal immigration

--Crony capitalism that gives advantages to a favored few, or punishes those who don't cozy up to people in power

--Federal employees get far better pay plus benefits than similar workers in the private sector, while public unions push for more

Talk about Chicago-style politics doesn’t only worry conservatives. It's a mainstream issue, that we need to kick out because it's polluting that stream.
