Istook1072 Shooting proves evil exists and so does good

Recorded on July 23, 2012

The horrible killings in Aurora, Colorado, reminds us that evil exists no matter what we do to prevent it.

But the heroic actions by many and the compassionate rush to reach out and help are also reminders of the good that remains stronger.

Colorado 's governor is often considered a liberal. Yet he says no gun laws would have stopped the demonic actions of the killer. This was a person, he said, who would have turned instead to explosives, or to poisonous gas, if he had not had access to guns.

So far, there's no indication that anybody had advance warning that he would become a mass murderer.

Yes, evil exists. But even when its disasters cannot be prevented, we can still overcome by how we comfort the victims and their families, and how we bring out the good in ourselves and in others.
