Obama Donor Should Not be in Charge of Probing White House

The Justice Department is investigating whether secrets were leaked to help President Obama's re-election campaign.

Unfortunately, Ron Machen, one of two U.S. Attorneys put in charge of the investigation is a campaign donor to Obama. He contributed over $4-thousand to Obama's campaigns and was appointed to his position by Obama.

So if Machen concludes that the White House did no wrong, many will treat his report as a whitewash.

The appointment is the latest bad move by Attorney-General Eric Holder, who already faces a contempt of Congress vote. Holder himself is a long-time political buddy of Obama—all the more reason not to appoint another friend of Obama to investigate the White House.

America deserves to know whether national security was breached to boost Obama's re-election. Unless a truly neutral person heads the probe, many will treat this as a political cover-up.
