Obama Uses Phony Numbers, Trying to Look Good

President Obama claims he's frugal with the public's money. He says spending during his term rose at the slowest pace in almost 60 years.

That claim is a whopper—a falsehood that tells us a lot about Obama.

Obama uses carefully-phrased facts and figures. Critics respond with math of their own. It's easy to get dizzy and confused.

So just remember this: Obama is not comparing his spending with regular federal budgets. Instead, Obama compares it with 2009, when over 1 1/2-trillion dollars in one-time temporary spending went to bailouts and stimulus.

With that trick alone, Obama could spend an extra trillion dollars a year and still claim he's cutting spending. He also uses several other gimmicks. Sadly, instead of giving us an honest picture, Obama hopes to deceive the public for his own political gain.
