Extremists Within Military

Recorded on December 9, 2011

A U.S. Senator questions whether political correctness is being placed above the security of our armed forces.

Maine Senator Susan Collins received a Defense Department letter referring to the 2009 Fort Hood killings as “workplace violence.” Thirteen were killed and dozens wounded by that one-man attack blamed on Major Nidal Hasan, who was linked to radical Islamist terrorists.

Others in Congress also worry that our military has been infiltrated by such extremists. So far they count 33 Islamist plots against our stateside military since 9/11, and most of those in the last two years.

So even before our soldiers get to the front overseas, they are in danger from radical jihadists who are within our own military.

It is not “workplace violence,” but a threat from Islamic radicalization. Only if we recognize what it is can we take steps against it.
