It's time for common sense; I'm Ernest Istook.
The latest assault on traditional marriage fortunately has been stymied. The Obama Administration already is organizing open homosexuality in the military and refuse to support the defense of marriage act in court. Now it issued guidelines saying Navy chaplains can perform same sex marriages- at least in states that say it’s okay.
But that violates the law that clearly says for federal purposes says the word marriage means only a legal union between one man and one woman as husband and wife. That’s the exact language.
Fortunately dozens of Congressmen objected quickly and loudly to the Navy so the pentagon says the same sex marriage guideline is suspended until further notice. Let’s hope the Navy has deep sixed it permanently.
The Obama Administration showed again that it’s not just trying to change government, it’s trying to change the very foundations of our society.
For common sense, from The Heritage Foundation, I'm Ernest Istook.
