Higher and Higher

On the same day that Congress voted to reduce spending by $6 billion, our national debt rose by $72 billion, twelve times the spending cuts.
This bloated government keeps making things worse for American families. Sky-high gasoline prices trace back to policies that suppress domestic drilling. Food prices are also spiking, much of it due to subsidies to make ethanol out of corn.
Ethanol takes huge amounts of corn away from feeding both people and livestock. Both food and fuel prices rose 3.5% last month, meaning about 40% on an annual basis. Plus, Obamacare is making insurance costlier, financial reform laws mean higher bank fees, and waiting in the wings are EPA regulations that will drive up the cost of everything. Nobody can afford this much government.
