It's time for common sense; I'm Ernest Istook.
We're entering a new stage to undo the damage from the new federal health care law.
House and Senate votes fell almost exactly along party lines, with the House favoring repeal of Obamacare but the Senate rejecting it. And despite the court order saying the law is unconstitutional, Obama states he'll push forward to implement it during the appeal.
Now comes the step-by-step approach, just like pulling up individual weeds from your lawn. It will be time-consuming and tedious legislative work because the law is both massive and complex. But it must be done, shown by constant announcements of how insurance coverage is being strangled and ended by the costs and red tape of Obamacare.
It all proves that when people get in power who don't respect the proper limits of government, it takes years to undo the damage that they cause.
For common sense, from The Heritage Foundation, I'm Ernest Istook.
